How to Make Candles Step by Step Instructions

Basic candles are really easy to make. Follow these simple steps to make one now:

  1. Take required amount of wax. You need to figure out how much wax you need to fill your container and then take that amount of wax in a separate pot.
  2. Melt the wax. Boil or heat the pot and let the wax melt for 10-15 minutes. Do stir regularly to melt the wax evenly.
  3. Drop fragrance oil. If you are going to make a scented candle, then it is the time to add your fragrance oil. Add fragrance oil keep the ratio of the wax mentioned in the instruction manual. Stir for few seconds.
  4. Put your wick. Put your wick at the bottom of the container, where the candle wax will be poured. To keep the wick standing straight you can dip the wick in the melted wax and quickly put it in the container bottom.
  5. Fill the container with wax. Now, pour the container with the melted wax, make sure the wax temperature is around 140 degrees. Slowly fill the container with wax, hold the wick in place if necessary.
  6. Keeping the wick in the middle. It will need around four hours for the wax to settle fully at room temperature. You can simply put two chopsticks across the container, sandwiching the wick in the middle of them.
  7. Add more wax if necessary. If your candle top is not plain and got lots of cracks. Simply reheat and add more melted wax if necessary.

That’s how your wax is ready. You can also check the video to see all the steps of candle making:
